Wes Bynum begins his service as interim-pastor at Emerald Bay Church in January 2022. Wes is uniquely qualified to serve as interim pastor. He is an ordained minister and served as a senior pastor for 30 years prior to the death of his first wife.
He currently serves on the Pastoral Care Advisory Committee for both Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, and for the Corporate Christus Health system who has health care facilities throughout Texas and Mexico. He has been associated with the Hospice of East Texas for more than 25 years, and at the time of his retirement in 2019, he served as Director of Care Support Services, with responsibilities that included oversight of all Bereavement, Chaplain, and Volunteer activity covering a 23 county area of East Texas. He continues his connection with hospice as Care Support Consultant and is frequently asked to speak to various groups on the subject of bereavement and to facilitate grief seminars.
